
Personal Care
Personal Care Services will be performed by PCAs that have completed a state approved nurse aide training program. Personal Care Services are for those who need non-medical and hands-on duties on basic personal hygiene and assisting day-to-day activities that are unable to perform by client on their own.
Personal Hygiene and Grooming
Personal hygiene and grooming for the elderly in home care services involve assisting and supporting elderly in maintaining cleanliness, good grooming habits, and overall self-care. The goal is to ensure the older adults' comfort, health, and dignity, while promoting their overall well-being.
Bathing
Providing assistance and support to elderly in cleaning their bodies, including washing, rinsing, and drying.
Oral Care
To providing assistance and support to elderly in maintaining proper dental hygiene, including brushing their teeth, cleaning their gums, tongue, and dentures.
Skin Care
Providing assistance and support to elderly in maintaining healthy skin through regular cleansing, moisturizing, and protection to prevent skin issues.
Hair Care
Assisting and supporting elderly in maintaining their hair cleanliness, grooming, and styling, including washing, brushing, and managing their hair to promote their comfort and appearance.
Dressing
It involves assisting and supporting older individuals in selecting appropriate clothing, dressing and undressing, and managing their personal attire to ensure their comfort, dignity, and independence in getting dressed.
Assistance in Toiletting
If the client is not willing to ask for help in toileting, there would be hygiene issues. There should be a compassionate and dignified assistance when it comes to this kind of task for the client. The MHCS builds a trusted relationship between PCAs and the clients to help the loved ones in the comfort of their home.
Mobility Assistance
Not all homes are designed with elderly in mind and can be fall risk. For instance, in the bathroom where the surfaces are slippery when wet and after bath or shower as this is one of the top safety concerns faced by clients. By providing mobility assistance at home can greatly reduce the risk.
Assistance with Range of Motion
Providing support and guidance to older adults who may have difficulty performing physical activities and maintaining their flexibility. This type of assistance is typically offered by MHSCS PCAs who are trained in helping older individuals improve their mobility, strength, and overall well-being.
